Google Gemini API set up
Google Gemini (Gemini 3.5, 3.1, 3.0, 2.5, 2.0)
Best for: Fast generation times and excellent multi-lingual support.
- Go to aistudio.google.com.
- Sign in with your Google account.
- Click Get API Key in the top menu.
- Click Create API Key and select a Google Cloud project (or create a new one).
- Copy the generated API key.
Open AI Platform API set up
OpenAI (GPT-5, GPT-5 Mini, o1, o3)
Best for: High-quality long-form writing with the latest GPT models.
- Go to platform.openai.com.
- Sign in or create a free account.
- Click your profile icon → View API Keys.
- Click Create new secret key, name it (e.g. VybeDraft), and copy it.
- Make sure billing is enabled under Settings → Billing if you want to use paid models.
Anthropic(Claude) Platform API set up
Anthropic Claude (Claude Opus, Sonnet, Haiku)
Best for: Exceptionally well-structured, nuanced writing.
- Go to console.anthropic.com.
- Sign in or create an account.
- Navigate to API Keys in the left sidebar.
- Click Create Key, give it a name, and copy it.
- Add a credit balance under Plans & Billing to activate API access.
OpenRouter API set up
OpenRouter (Access 26+ models with one key)
Best for: Flexibility — use Gemini, GPT-5, Claude, DeepSeek, Qwen, Llama, and more through a single key.
- Go to openrouter.ai and create a free account.
- Click your avatar → Keys.
- Click Create Key, name it, and copy it.
- Add credit to your account under Credits for paid models (many models are free).
Github Models API set up
GitHub Models (Llama 3.2 Vision)
Best for: Free access to Meta’s Llama vision models with a GitHub account.
- Go to github.com/marketplace/models.
- Sign in to your GitHub account.
- Click any model → Get API Key.
- This generates a GitHub Personal Access Token (Classic). Copy it.
