Get up and running in under 5 minutes. This guide walks you through installing the plugin, connecting your AI provider, and generating your first post.

Requirements

Before installing, make sure your WordPress site meets the following minimum requirements:

Note: VybeDraft Post Automator Pro automatically deactivates the free version of VybeDraft Post Automator if it is installed. You do not need to manually remove the free version first.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1 — Install the Plugin

Option A: Upload via WordPress Dashboard (Recommended)

Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
Click Upload Plugin at the top of the page.
Click Choose File and select the vybedraft-post-automator-pro.zip file you received after purchase.
Click Install Now.
Once installed, click Activate Plugin.

Option B: Upload via FTP / File Manager

Unzip the vybedraft-post-automator-pro.zip file on your computer.
Connect to your server via FTP (e.g. FileZilla) or your hosting control panel’s File Manager.
Upload the extracted VybeDraft Post Automator Pro folder to:
/wp-content/plugins/
Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins.
Find VybeDraft Post Automator Pro and click Activate.

Step 2 — Get Your AI API Key

VybeDraft is a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) plugin — you connect directly to your own AI provider account. Your keys are stored securely in your WordPress database and never shared with us.

Step 3 — Configure the Plugin

Once activated, configure VybeDraft from your WordPress dashboard.

Go to Posts → Automator Settings in your WordPress sidebar.
Fill in the following fields:

AI Platform

Select your preferred AI provider from the dropdown:

OpenAI — GPT-5, GPT-5 Mini, o1, o3 Mini
Google Gemini — Gemini 3.5 Flash/Pro through Gemini 2.0
Anthropic (Claude) — Claude Opus, Sonnet, Haiku
GitHub Models — Llama 3.2 Vision
OpenRouter — 26+ models from all major providers

AI Model

Select a specific model within your chosen platform. Each model displays a speed badge:

🟢 Fast (~10–45 sec) — Gemini Flash, GPT-5 Mini, Claude Haiku, DeepSeek V4 Flash
🟠 Medium (~1–2 min) — Gemini Pro, Claude Sonnet, Gemma, Llama, Qwen
🔴 Slow (2–5+ min) — GPT-5, Claude Opus, DeepSeek R1, reasoning models

Tip: For your first test, choose a Fast model like Gemini 2.5 Flash or GPT-5 Mini to get instant results.

API Key

Paste the API key you copied in Step 2. The key is stored encrypted in your WordPress database — it is never displayed in full after saving.

Default Post Status

Choose whether generated posts are:

Save as Draft — Saved for your review before publishing (recommended to start)
Publish Directly — Posts go live immediately after generation

Default Target Audience

Set a fallback audience that applies to all generated posts unless overridden per post (e.g. “Digital marketing professionals”, “Home cooks”).

Custom Master Prompt

This is the global writing instruction sent to the AI before every post. The default is:

“Write a comprehensive, well-structured, SEO-optimized blog post. Include an engaging introduction, a detailed body with subheadings (h2, h3), and a strong conclusion. Use HTML formatting with h2, h3, p, ul, ol, and blockquote tags. The content should be informative, engaging, and ready to publish.”

You can customize this to match your brand voice, require specific sections, or write in a different language (e.g. add “Write all content in French”).

Click Save Settings.

Step 4 — Generate Your First Post

Single Post Generation

Go to Posts → Post Automator.
Enter a Post Title (required).
Optionally add Post Details with extra context, keywords, or talking points.
Set a Target Audience for this specific post (or leave blank to use the default).
Upload a Featured Image — the AI will analyze it and incorporate it into the post.
Click Generate Post.

The plugin will show a progress indicator while the AI is working. Once done, your post will be saved as a draft (or published, depending on your settings) and you’ll see a direct link to edit it.

Bulk Post Generation (Pro Exclusive)

Go to Posts → Bulk Post Automator.
Choose your input method:
- CSV Upload — Import a spreadsheet of posts at once
- Image Drop — Drop multiple images; each generates its own post
For CSV, download the Sample CSV template and fill it in with your post data. Supported columns:

Click Start Bulk Generation. Posts are processed silently in the background — you can close the tab and check your Posts list later.

Step 5 — Schedule Posts (Optional)

VybeDraft Pro includes an unlimited post scheduling calendar.

Go to Posts → Post Scheduler.
View, edit, or delete all upcoming scheduled posts from a single dashboard.
To schedule a single post, simply set a Publish Date in the Post Automator before generating.
For bulk scheduling, include a scheduled_date column in your CSV file.

WP-Cron Note: WordPress scheduling relies on site traffic to trigger events. On very low-traffic sites, VybeDraft’s built-in recovery checker will automatically detect and publish any missed scheduled posts.

Troubleshooting

"API key is not configured"

Make sure you saved your API key under Posts → Automator Settings. Double-check that you copied the full key without any leading or trailing spaces.

Post generation fails or times out

API credits: Check that your provider account has an active billing method and sufficient credits.
Slow models: High-quality models like GPT-5 and Claude Opus can take 3–5 minutes. Try a fast model first (Gemini Flash, GPT-5 Mini) to confirm the connection works.
Server timeout: If your web host limits PHP execution time below 5 minutes, contact your host to increase it, or switch to a faster model.

"Free limit reached" message

This message only appears if the free version is still somehow active alongside Pro. Deactivate it via Plugins → Installed Plugins.

Image upload errors

Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP.
Maximum recommended file size: 4–5 MB. Compress larger images before uploading.
Note: Some text-only models (o1, o3, DeepSeek, Qwen, Gemma, Llama 3.3) do not support image input. The plugin will automatically skip image context for these models.

SEO keyword not populating

VybeDraft auto-populates the SEO focus keyword field for Yoast SEO, Rank Math, and All in One SEO (AIOSEO). Make sure one of these plugins is installed and active.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my API key shared with VybeDraft?

No. Your API key is stored only in your own WordPress database and is sent directly to your chosen AI provider’s servers. We never receive or store your key.

Can I use multiple AI providers?

Yes — you can switch your active platform and model in Settings at any time. If you use OpenRouter, you can access models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, Meta, and Qwen through a single OpenRouter API key.

Is there a post generation limit?

No. VybeDraft Pro has no artificial cap on posts. The only limits are those imposed by your AI provider’s rate limits and account balance.

Can I generate posts in other languages?

Yes. Add a language instruction to your Custom Master Prompt, such as: “Write all blog posts in Spanish.” This applies to every generation, including CSV bulk runs.

Does it slow down my website?

No. VybeDraft runs exclusively inside the WordPress admin and does not load any scripts or styles on your public-facing website. Bulk jobs run in background threads to keep your admin panel responsive.
